Making of a Bed... part II

Well, it's done... I was going to sand and paint but I was stuck in the house for 3 days due to rising flood waters. So Kaelen finished it, all on his own.(not that I didn't think he could) We set it up last night, fits perfect and looks great...
Thank You dear...you're great!!!!!!!!

Next...sand and paint the dresser and nightstands to match... then the bedroom...

row, row, row your boat gently down the stream

Well, we’ve had a lot of snow this year, then a lot of rain. Now we have a lot of flooding... as you can see (by the pictures below) the water has washed out the road the only road from our house to civilization... The neighbours have offered anyone wanting to cross the use of their boat... They say it should be driveable in a day or two... we’ll see... meanwhile we will hold up in the house and send Kaelen out for groceries...

Becoming Gardeners

We have decided to start a garden this year. Kaelen is going to build a greenhouse after all the snow goes away. but we wanted to get an early start on things so we planted some things inside the house. including Cucumbers, Tomatoes, and Zucchini among other things.

Here is the status of our garden...

Kael-b and the Tim-b's

Kael loves to get timbits on Fridays when he comes with me to town to pick up Emma from pre-school. for those non-canadians, timbits are doughnut holes from our local Tim Hortons.

This is one of his favorite Friday activities...

The making of a Bed

Well I ask for a bed and I got this... Pretty awsome I know... It's not done yet a little sanding and painting to go... that's my job...

The wood

The man

The plan

The tools

The result so far...

Oh ya, thanks Mel & Kathi for the use of your shop...

Road Trip

After a seemingly short 12 hour drive to visit the temple and my mom, dad & sisters (Mia & Jess) in Seattle, we are back. It was good to get away from the foot of snow that is still on our lawn and the 30 degrees temps. To the rain and 40 degree temps of Seattle, yes change is good. We stayed in a hotel with a pool which the kids were excited about, and near lots of shopping which I was excited about, and near lots of good restaurants which Kaelen was excited about...
We did do other things too...

Golden Garden Park, found a crab and sea shells on a very windy beach...

Rode the carousel, looked at all the goods at Pikes Place Market...

Feed the seagulls chips at Ivans fish & chips.

Saw the boats at the channel locks

Had a great time just hanging out with the fam...
