Paper Snowflake Ornament

Soooo easy, fun and awesome holiday decor, or cute for a girls bedroom as you can see the first one we did wasn't in Christmas colors so we put it in Emma's room... the 2nd one I didn't have any 12x 12 Christmas colored paper so we cut red & green construction paper to 8x8 square and used that... you can also do 6x6... for a video how -to see the link below... Can't take credit for it my mom & sister found this one... :) have fun... :)

ice ornaments !

Do you live in the freezing cold north? If so, you can make these ice ornaments ... My sister who does not live in the freezing cold north emailed this idea to me... I guess I'm the only one she knows who lives somewhere so cold these will last til May...:)
this is how you make them...

You'll need :

~Christmas shaped cookie cutters ~ribbon or string ~9x13 pan ~food coloring ~water
~below zero temperatures...


A few hours later you'll have ice ornaments, run some warm water over the pan and chip off the extra ice and pop them out of the cookie cutters, hang them up... they'll hang around as long as the cold temperatures do...

Easy, cheap, fun for kids...

Parade of Lights

Last Friday was Vanderhoofs Christmas Parade of Lights and midnight madness sales... Emma & Kael and some of the other cousins got the chance to ride on a float... advertising their aunt Jana's home decor store Upon the Shelf. They got to sit in -12 degrees weather(and loved it... good thing the parade wasn't very long) wave and throw candy out... Then we walked around town seeing if there was any good deals to be had...

Christmas Tree Hunting !

After about an hour of hunting and 2 sleeping kids later, we found our tree... It wasn't very far from the road (so Kaelen didn't have to go far to cut it down or drag it back to the truck.) Once we got it home we had to cut it down alot and rearrange the furniture to fit it in. It looked alot smaller out in the wild, than it did in the house... but it smells really good... and it only fell over once after it was all decorated, braking a few glass balls... But it's up right now, redecorated, and tied to the wall...

Halloween 2009

Here are some of the photos of all of our costumes. Emma went as Princess Fiona (and wasn't a big fan about painting her face green, after all how many princesses have green facces?), Kael was too sick to dress up as a race car driver, Max was upset about beinga penguin, Kaelen was a stick in the mud just went as himself. as you can tell by the picture, and Rochelle... well... you get to figure that one out.

Best Birthday Party Ever!

That is what Emma said... Not that in her short 5 years she has a lot to compare with... But it was pretty fun anyway... we were in Utah for the event and had the party at Aunt Kara's house. Pizza, cake(made by Grandma Fox) and ice cream were on the menu... and a fun time with all her Utah cousins...

a little boy and his toy

This toy is very frustrating...



for this little boy ...


He’ll find this toy on occasion... then he will proceed to bite it, suck on it, and bang it on something with no success. At last resort he brings it to me when I try to explain to a 1 year old it cannot be opened or drunk. He takes it back and throws it across the room and crys ... I think we will be hiding this toy for awhile...

First and Foremost

Emma's first day of school... the first day of school is a 1 hour meet the teacher, tour the school, drop of all you supplies and stuff... So, that morning Emma tells me “mom you don’t need to stay with me.” I say, “We’ll see.” In the car on the way she said, “Well maybe you can wait in the car.” “We’ll see” I say. Walking up to the school, Emma says “well I guess you should come and stay." “Alright I’ll stay.” I say.






















Another 1st of the day
Was Max’s birthday... yep... 1year old!
He cried when we sang to him and until we gave him some cake I guess he just really wanted some cake :}Happy Birthday MAX!

Meet Thomas...

Emma and Kael have a new little friend and decided to call him Thomas the Cat...
a friend of our had kittens and we have a mouse problem, so Kaelen gave into Emma's pleas for a cat... And they love him they pack him around everywhere!

hay, hay, hay!!!

hay! everywhere ! Tis' the season I guess... this is what we do (Kaelen calls it fun I call it annoying)... cut it, rake it , bale it! and pray it doesn't rain or get to hot to fast or to little wind or to much dew! :{
but it's almost done... just a few more 100 acres to go.(or something)

Fox Visit!

Well, my mom, dad and 2 of my sisters (mia & jess) just left after a weeklong visit we already miss them. It was good to see them, and nice to have them visit for my birthday and extra help with the kids is always nice too...

2 pairs of shorts for Kael and Max...
A trip to Prince George...
Horseback riding for the girls...
2 trips to the lake... because it has been so hot here ... in the high 80’s all week! (a heat wave I’m telling you!)
And just hanging out with the puppies and the hay bales...
