Well looks like these first day of school pictures had gotten lost in the shuffle of pictures... lost no more !

I was downloading pictures from our camera and when it said now loading 100+ pictures I was surprised... I didn't think I had taken that many lately. I hadn't... Emma had of herself, the cat, Cora, her toys ect. So here are a few of the best... not to bad... for a 6 year old...:)



Smithers Fall Fair-- And At the Lake in September ?

I've been a bit slow with posting lately.... So here are a few things we've been doing the past month... The last weekend in August we headed to Smithers for the Fall Fair.

the kids loved the rides and Max was glad that he was big enough to go on some rides.

We also went out to the lake for the first time this Summer (probably the last) the kids loved it... 

Other things we've done but not pictured... bike ridding ... lawn camping... running in the hay field... harvesting our garden ... just enjoying the last few warm days of Summer !

Despicable Three

Maxwell's 3rd birthday was despicable.... I was just a small family party but the cake was a big hit!

 Max's favorite movie is Despicable Me .... but he can't say Despicable so he calls it ME! So when I saw this cake on Pinterest ... I just had to make it for him... he was impressed ... until he opened his gifts and found out he got a tractor that moved and made lots of noise... :)

DIY spare chairs

So a few months back I found these chairs at the thrift store for 2 bucks each... We where in need of a few spare chairs for the dinning room...It was impossible to find ones that were the same as the ones we already had ... So, I decided to go complete opposite of what we already had ... little bit of sanding and paint .... here you go before and after...Let me know what ya think ???

Barkerville

 It was Canada Day and so Kaelen had the day off from work so we headed about three an a half hours southeast to the old gold rush town of Barkerville . It was alot of fun to explore a place we had yet to visit.

We recently took Emma and Kael to the eye doctor to make sure they didn't need glasses with Kaelen's excessively bad eye sight we figured one of the kids would be in need of glasses at some point. To my surprise it wasn't Kaelen's genes that were the problem it was mine! Shocking I know! the Foxes aren't as prefect as we thought :) Anyway come to find out Kael is red- green deficient... Color Blind! Most common in boys and is inherited through the mothers genes (so dad, mom was right you are color blind)...1 out of 12 males are color blind ... go here to learn more and test yourself... It also explains why he often squints in bright sunlight the color blind are more sensitive to bright light.... 

 he told me, that the sun was hurting his eyes here...

So the Party started off with a treasure hunt, Kaelen made it up and it had the kids running all over place looking for clues... They all loved it...
